TURBINE TRANSITION COURSE

(Bell 206 BIII)

Minimum Course Requirements:

1) Hold a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate

2) Pass a Glacier Helicopter Turbine Transition Knowledge Test

3) Pass a Glacier Helicopter Turbine Transition Practical Test

4) Obtain 5 hours of flight time and 5 hours of ground instruction as per course outline

EXTERNAL LOAD TRAINING COURSE

(Bell 206 BIII)

Minimum Course Requirements:

1) Hold a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate

2) Pass a Glacier Helicopter External Load Knowledge Test

3) Pass a Glacier Helicopter External Load Practical Test

4) Obtain 5 hours of flight time and 5 hours of ground instruction as per course outline

SPECIALTY TRAINING COURSES

AGRICULTURAL SPRAYING & FERTILIZING

(BELL 206 BIII)

Minimum Course Requirements:

1) Hold a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate

2) Hold a Turbine Transition Course through Glacier Helicopter Service

3) Obtain a minimum of 5 hours of ground and 5 hours of flight time. During your course you will be learning all the necessary tasks to make you competent agricultural pilot.These tasks include low level maneuvers over fields and application of water, simulating chemical drops. You will also learn advanced aerobatic maneuvers that are required in the world of agricultural industry.

CHRISTMAS TREE HARVESTING

(Bell 206 BIII)

Minimum Course Requirements:

1) Hold a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate

2) Hold a Turbine Transition Course through Glacier Helicopter Service

3) Obtain a minimum of 5 hours of ground instruction and 5 hours of flight time. During your training you will be slinging a variety of weights simulating different loads that you will encounter during Christmas tree harvesting.

FIRE SUPPRESSION

(Bell 206 BIII)

Minimum Course Requirements:

1) Hold a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate

2) Hold a Turbine Transition Course through Glacier Helicopter Service

3) Obtain a minimum of 5 hours of ground and 5 hours of flight time. During your course of fire suppression you will be doing live water pick-ups and drops over various terrains. You will learn lake and river pickups. These skills are necessary for your career as an air combat firefighter.

MOUNTAIN & HIGH ALTITUDE

(Bell 206 BIII)

Minimum Course Requirements:

1) Hold a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate

2) Hold a Turbine Transition Course through Glacier Helicopter Service

3) Obtain a minimum of 5 hours of ground and 5 hours of flight time. During this course you will learn the fundamentals of high altitude and its effects on the aircraft. You will have a clear understanding of updrafts and downdrafts that you will encounter in mountainous terrain. You will learn advanced maneuvers such as confined space and pinnacle and ridge line approaches.







NOTE: THE ABOVE IS A GUIDE FOR THE MINIMUM FLIGHT HOURS REQUIRED BY GLACIER HELICOPTER SERVICE. THE NUMBER OF CRITIQUE HOURS NEEDED IN THIS COURSE VARIES FROM STUDENT TO STUDENT. AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE SPECIALTY INDUSTRIAL COURSES YOU WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION.
