Private Pilot Certification Course
Robinson R22 Beta and Beta II

Minimum Course Requirements:

  1. Obtain an FAA Third Class Medical Certificate
  2. Pass an FAA Private Pilot Helicopter Knowledge Test
  3. Pass an FAA Private Pilot Helicopter Practical Test
  4. Obtain a minimum of 40 hours of flight time and 35 hours of ground instruction

Course Outline:

bullet30 hours of dual instruction
bullet10 hours of solo practice
bullet35 hours of ground instruction

Note: The above is a guide for the minimum flight hours required by Federal Aviation Regulations. It is very rare that a student achieves the required proficiency is this time period. A total flight time of 50 hours prior to a student obtaining their Private Pilot Certificate is not uncommon.

Commercial Pilot Certification Course
Robinson R22 Beta and Beta II

Minimum Course Requirements:

  1. Obtain an FAA Third Class Medical Certificate
  2. Hold a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate
  3. Pass an FAA Commercial Pilot Helicopter Knowledge Test
  4. Pass an FAA Commercial Pilot Helicopter Practical Test
  5. Obtain a minimum of 150 hours of flight time including the flight time in this course and 30 hours of ground instruction

Course Outline:

bullet20 hours of dual instruction
bullet10 hours of instrument instruction
bullet70 hours of solo/PIC practice
bullet10 hours of solo practice
bullet30 hours of ground instruction

Note: The average pilot could require additional dual instruction and additional ground instruction in order to achieve the required proficiency to obtain the Commercial Pilot Certificate. It should be pointed out that Private Pilots with more than 40 hours of logged flight time will be able to complete this course in less than the 110 hours listed in the Course Outline. The term "solo" used above in the Course Outline indicates that the student is the sole occupant of the aircraft, and the term "solo/PIC" indicates that the student is either the sole occupant of the aircraft or will act as the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) with an instructor or passenger on board.

Flight Instructor Certification Course

Minimum Course Requirements:

  1. Hold a valid Commercial Pilot Helicopter Certificate 

  2. Hold a current FAA Third Class Medical Certificate 
  3. Pass an FAA Helicopter Flight Instructor Knowledge Test
  4. Pass an additional FAA Knowledge Test on the Fundamentals of Instruction 
  5. Pass an FAA Helicopters Flight Instructor Practical Test
  6. Obtain a minimum of 200 hours of flight time and 20 hours of ground instruction as per course outline.
